Holland & Sons 19th century gilt decorated side cabinets

Holland & Sons 19th century gilt decorated side cabinets
Circa 1880
An outstanding pair of 19th century gilt decorated side cabinets attributed to Holland & Sons, the society cabinet makers of the 19th century who rivalled Gillows of Lancaster. The D-shaped cabinets retain the original white statuary marble inverted break-fronted tops. The interior has a mirrored back, two fixed shelves with the original silk velvet. The whole has finely cast applied mouldings in the Victorian manner throughout.

Condition
Good. Some sympathetic restoration to the gilding. The back side mouldings have been cut away to fit against a high skirting board.
