Circa 1740
A magnificent 18th century mahogany open armchair. Gainsborough chair. The front cabriole legs have a scroll foot, which is often known as a French scroll toe, fine carving to the knees of the cabriole front legs, all of which is raised on barrel shaped castors. Large rectangular seat and back, shaped carved swept arms with elbow pads.
Original beautiful 18th century needlework throughout.
The seat shows signs of wear.
