18th century Tea Caddy

18th century Tea Caddy
Circa 1750
A very rare cream ground 18th century Italian lacquered dome top tea caddy in the chinoiserie design. The interior retains the original metal containers for the very expensive tea from China. One end of the caddy is monogrammed with the letters A.N. We have been advised that this was possibly a commission for the Venetian Alvise Nani family, The Countess still lives in the Palazzo Nani in Venice which is now a hotel.
Circa 1750.
