Antique mahogany chest

Antique mahogany chest
Circa 1775
Highly collectable and exquisite small Chippendale period mahogany chest of drawers, having a broad crossbanded top. This is undoubtedly from the London workshops of Thomas Chippendale, St Martins Lane, London. Please note the interesting proportions of this article. The blocking of the bracket feet on the underside, the fine cock-beading around the drawer arrangement and the brushing slide. The whole retains the original gilt-metal swan neck handles and locks. Excellent 'country house' state with a glorious patina. Ideal piece for a bedroom. English circa 1775.
