18th century mahogany table
Circa 1755
This is an outstanding George II period, 1727 - 1760 mahogany tripod-based table. The top retains a beautiful mellow toffee colour. The one-piece circular tilt-top, which also rotates has a finely carved egg-and-dart carved edge above birdcage mechanism, on a turned and carved fluted baluster stem. The three cabriole legs, has acanthus-carved decoration on the knees, the whole is terminating with paw feet.
