 18th century mahogany drum Table
Circa 1775
A very fine George III flame veneered mahogany circular later leather lined top drum table, having four alternative oak lined frieze drawers and four false, all retaining gilt metal swan neck handles.
The whole is supported on a turned fluted tapering column and four outswept reeded and panelled cabriole legs, each finely carved with an oval patera. Attributed to Gillows of Lancaster.

Was this execution taken from Thomas Chippendale's 'Gentleman's and Cabinetmakers Director', which was first published in 1754?

At Christie's Auction 18 June 2008 - Simon Sainsbury sale a very similar table sold for £73,250 it had been acquired from Hotspur 14 Mach 1995.
