Large blue & white pottery plate

Circa 1820
Large early 19th century rectangular blue and white pottery under-dish or meat plate. The reverse has a large cartouche printed in blue 'Mandarin Opaque China' and impressed 18.
Apparently according to W. Coysh and R.K Henrywood who put together The Dictionary of Blue and White Printed Pottery 1780-1880, only four different designs have been noted to date.
This design is completed with five Chinese figures all on a hillock. Three are standing, the man in the foreground is holding a large opium pipe, while two younger members are seated. In the background on the left is a castellated property, and on the right is an Asian designed property. In the foreground is a large Neo-classical lidded urn.
All is set within a stylised floral surround.

The whole is hugely decorative.
