In Egyptian taste. A fine pair of settees in the Egyptian design. The arms are headed with carved Egyptian style heads. Raised on four carved front sabre reeded legs. Turned and carved uprights. Similar furniture and furnishings having Egyptian influence can be viewed at Stourhead in Wiltshire, the property was partly furnished by Thomas Chippendale the Younger, from 1795 to 1820. Hoare family - bankers. This magnificent pair are made of oak and are possibly German circa 1900
